SASLOK® SCAFFOLD

SASLOK is a fully galvanised, multi-purpose steel system scaffold for general access, shoring and supporting vertical loads. SASLOK is distinguished by its unique node point, which allows up to four components to be connected in one fastening action.

Range & applications

SASLOK is ideal for a wide range of applications including continuous facade, circular scaffold, birdcage access and staircase access. It is often used for renovation scaffolding, façade scaffolding, masonry scaffolding, support or staircase towers, as well as being used in more specialised applications, such as shipbuilding.

SASLOK staircase towers, mobile towers and loading bays are also available in our range. By adding new components and lighter materials, we continue to create new SASLOK applications.

TUBE & FITTING SCAFFOLD

We offer an extensive range of scaffold tube, fittings and boards, and accessories capable of following the most complex building and plant profiles, fitting into awkward spaces and accommodating changing requirements. We can make a system adaptable for almost any access application

Tube is available in aluminium, galvanised and black steel material. Both pressed and drop forged fittings are available and all scaffold boards conform to British standards.

All double fittings, the critical load-bearing fitting, are drop forged. Since the introduction of the new standard, all fittingg, purchased are to EN74 class B. These fittings have a 50% greater design capacity compared to cheaper pressed steel fittings

SASLOK® STAIRCASE

SASLOK® staircases consist of steel stair units and a specially designed, high-strength guardrail panel to give a lighter, stronger staircase. The use of staircase structures is increasing as pressure to improve site access is encouraging the provision of safer and more effective movement of site personnel and the general public.

Our range of staircases are suitable for both professional trades and members of the public. The inherent variability allows ascending/descending stairs and other modes of access of all kinds and dimensionsto be assembled from just a few system components. Typically designed and integrated into the main scaffold, the staircases provide a convenient. fast and effective method of evacuation from a building in the event of an emeergency.

All Design drawing meets U.A.E & UK Guidelines BS EN 12811-1.This includes bespoke designs, as well as‘generic’ standard solutions,such as those provided by the NASC TG20:13 e-guide (which are backed up by analysis). The PURPOSE of scaffold design calculations (and therefore the REASON that they are required) is to substantiate the scaffold design drawings, i.e.to prove that they work!Without calculations a design is incomplete and cannot be used.

If any doubt remained as to the importance of scaffold design calculations, it should be dispelled by the legal requirement for scaffold designs, which is a requirement to provide calculations

What Is A Mast Climber?

Best described as a vertically travelling motorised platform attached to the outside of a building, a mast climber is used for all areas of building work, from new build construction to repairs, maintenance, facilities management and even recladding. Travelling up and down one or more vertical masts, a mast climber carries both materials and personnel to the required working level, helping complete work much faster and on budget. Promoted by the IPAF (International Powered Access Federation), mast climbers come in a range of shapes and sizes, offering a variety in height, width, and load capacities, meaning they can be used on all types of multi-storey buildings.

Mast Climber: What Else Are They Called?

Mast climbers are referred to by many different names in some regions and industries; either formally or informally. Typically, in the UAE and in some of the largest markets on the continent, mast climbers are called MCWPs or mast climbing work platforms. This name perfectly sums up what they do, too, providing a single platform for construction work to be completed on.  

The term MEWP or mobile elevated work platform is often used but more as an umbrella term as well. While it doesn’t include mast climbers, MEWPS refers to things such as scissor lifts and truck mounts, which are other means of completing work at elevation.   

Despite this, MCWP or mast climbing work platforms is the more common term and is what is typically recognised as the industry standard term, found on the IPAF website.

A Mast Climber For Your Project

One of the most common misconceptions is that a mast climber work platform is a straight-line solution only. It isn’t.

Designed to work around everything a building can throw in its way, mast climbers can still be used around corners and if buildings have balconies, making them just as flexible as scaffolding.

This means there is an almost bespoke approach to every mast climber, tailored to your building.

Mast climbers can be as small as 2.5m in length or as wide as 37.8m with a twin mast, capable of working as high as 250m in the UAE and can even be double stacked, so whatever size or scale of your project, there is a mast climber option available to you.

What is a cradle?

Suspended cradles (also known as suspended access platforms) are safe working areas hung from cables which can be raised and lowered into position using powered winches.

Suspended cradles are widely used for maintenance, cleaning, inspection and installation work on both the external and internal sides of buildings and structures.

Suspended either directly from a gantry, structure or using a specially fabricated roof-rig system, temporary access cradles are a quick and convenient method of accessing heights or depths out of the range of conventional access methods such as scaffolding, ladders, cherry pickers and scissor lifts.

Another advantage of cradles is that they create no obstruction at ground level and generally need no tying in to the building face. With little noise or vibration, cradles are ideal for working at height on occupied buildings.

Modular capability

A cradle consists of deck units, guardrails, winches and headgear. These are modular and can be configured to suit a wide range of applications ranging in length from 2 to 12 metres. Power systems

The ability to raise and lower the cradle comes from either the Alpha Hoist or Compact Hoist, depending on load requirements. These are highly reliable devices with built in fail safes and are combined with the Sky Lock secondary rope safety device.
